Job summary

Gilbert + Tobin is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join our Technology Operations team. You will own and improve our hybrid on-premises and cloud infrastructure, mentor junior engineers and drive reliability, security and efficiency across Windows Server, AD, Entra ID, DNS/DHCP, and Microsoft 365.

You will work with Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation, PowerShell and Python to deliver repeatable infrastructure, monitor via AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor and Log Analytics, and

Qualifications

• Five or more years’ experience in infrastructure engineering, systems engineering or a similar enterprise IT operations role.
• Experience delivering hybrid on-premises and cloud solutions.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure and AWS IaaS/ PaaS services.
• Experience with Active Directory, Entra ID, Group Policy, MFA and SSO.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot and enhance hybrid infrastructure across on-premises, Azure and AWS.
• Act as escalation point for Systems Administrators, investigate incidents and perform root cause analysis.
• Design and implement highly available, resilient infrastructure aligned with security and operational requirements.
• Deliver infrastructure upgrades, migrations, patching and lifecycle management.
• Use infrastructure as code and automation tools (Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation, PowerShell, Python) to enable repeatability.
• Maintain monitoring, alerting and observability with AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.
• Support security hardening and compliance with frameworks like Essential Eight, CIS, ISO 27001.
