This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR professional to join NSW Health Pathology in a senior Human Resources Business Partner role, internally titled Human Resources Manager.
Based primarily at Westmead, the position offers a highly visible and influential HR presence across a diverse healthcare portfolio, supporting services throughout Western Sydney Local Health District, Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District, and, to a lesser extent, Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District and South Eastern NSW/South Coast services. Regular travel across the portfolio is an important aspect of the role, allowing you to build strong relationships with operational leaders and maintain a genuine onsite presence.
The role has a strong employee and industrial relations focus, providing expert advice and support on complex workforce matters including performance management, misconduct, grievance resolution, organisational change, consultation, award interpretation and union engagement. At the same time, it remains a true generalist HR Business Partner position, providing exposure across the full employee lifecycle, workforce planning, recruitment, organisational development, culture initiatives and strategic people projects.
You will partner with an established and high-performing stakeholder group comprising senior operational leaders, laboratory managers and executive teams, contributing to workforce outcomes that directly support clinical service delivery. The position offers the opportunity to influence strategic decision-making while delivering practical, solutions-focused HR support in a complex and rewarding healthcare environment.
Equally appealing is the opportunity to work within a vibrant, professional, supportive and collaborative HR team that values partnership, continuous improvement and service excellence. Beyond delivering strategic and operational HR support, you will play an active role in coaching, mentoring and sharing expertise with junior HR colleagues, helping build capability across the broader HR function while fostering a positive and high-performing team culture. This role is ideally suited to an experienced HR practitioner who enjoys balancing strategic business partnering with hands-on employee and industrial relations work, while contributing to the development of others and making a meaningful impact within a large, complex and purpose-driven public health organisation.
The HR Manager is responsible for a diverse range of human resource and workforce functions including providing high level HR advice, coaching and consultancy services to support managers and staff. Proactively support the Associate Director, Human Resource in leading the implementation of strategic, transformational and cultural workforce initiatives across NSW Health Pathology (NSWHP), providing leave relief as required.
