Job summary

Laing O’Rourke is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager based in Sydney to support major infrastructure projects in NSW. The role focuses on implementing the Rethinking Safety Programme and ensuring both physical and psychological safety through inclusion and wellbeing.

The position offers strong career prospects within a privately-owned tier 1 constructor and international engineering enterprise.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety required.
• At least 10 years' extensive experience on large-scale construction projects, ideally in Australia.
• Experience coaching safety peers and project personnel.
• Proven leadership experience and audit expertise.

Responsibilities

• Lead all Health & Safety aspects across projects, ensuring compliance with contract conditions and regulations.
• Monitor, coach and direct HSE reporting to manage non-conformances and incident investigations.
• Influence safety culture and performance on the project.
• Plan and conduct project audits in line with the Audit Schedule.
