Job summary

NQM Gold 2 Pty Ltd is seeking a Senior Health and Safety Advisor for the Pajingo mine located near Charters Towers, QLD. The role reports to the Health and Safety Superintendent and focuses on maintaining the Mine Health and Safety Management Plan with emphasis on risk management and compliance.

This is a permanent position on an 8/6 roster with FIFO or DIDO options, including meals and accommodation. Key duties include risk assessment, audits, training delivery, regulatory compliance, and

Qualifications

• Recognised tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety.
• APHRA certification is desirable.
• Current manual driver's licence.
• Minimum 3 years in a Senior Health & Safety Advisor or similar role.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in the mining industry.
• Detailed working knowledge of the Mines Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the Mine Health and Safety Management Plan with focus on risk management and compliance.
• Review risk management documentation aligned to legislative requirements and company standards.
• Promote the Critical Risk Management Program across site with training and reporting.
• Provide reporting and analysis of critical risk data to support KPI achievement.
• Monitor critical risk management activities including verifications and coaching.
• Review Principal Mining Hazard Management Plans and report compliance.
• Conduct training, safety audits, risk assessments and workplace inspections.
• Investigate events and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Oversee health and safety initiatives and drive continuous safety improvements.
