Job summary

Golding Contractors Pty Ltd is seeking a Specialist Health & Safety Advisor to join our Civil Division on a major infrastructure project near Moranbah, Queensland. You will drive SHET outcomes, embed a proactive safety culture and lead risk-based solutions in the field.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will influence stakeholders, conduct risk assessments and support incident investigations while ensuring compliance with Safety Management Systems. FIFO from Brisbane or DIDO options apply.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety or a related discipline.
• Experience in civil construction, infrastructure, roads, bulk earthworks or related heavy industry environments.
• Experience facilitating risk assessments for high-risk construction and heavy industry activities.
• Strong knowledge of incident reporting, investigation and corrective action management.
• Experience conducting safety audits, inspections and compliance monitoring.
• Ability to build positive working relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and lead project risk assessments aligned with construction activities and project schedules.
• Develop, implement and champion a project-specific SHE monitoring program informed by risk assessments and critical risk controls.
• Monitor the effectiveness of the project's Safety, Health and Environmental Management Plan and drive improvements.
• Provide practical safety leadership and contribute to toolbox talks, pre-start meetings and project communications.
• Lead and support incident investigations, including ICAM investigations and corrective actions.
• Build a strong safety culture founded on trust, accountability and respect.
• Maintain compliance with Golding and client Safety and Health Management Systems.
• Identify opportunities to improve workforce safety, wellbeing and risk awareness.
• Conduct regular field interactions, safety inspections and coaching activities.
