Job summary

Anglican Church Grammar School, known as Churchie, is seeking an experienced Senior Human Resource Officer to join the HR team on a permanent, full-time basis in East Brisbane, commencing in 2027.

This key role provides high-quality operational and advisory HR support across the School, partnering with leaders and staff to deliver compliant, people-focused services aligned with the School’s values and strategic objectives. A proactive, confidential approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources, employment relations, business or a related discipline.
• Substantial generalist HR experience at senior coordinator, officer or advisory level.
• Experience with high-volume recruitment; education/child-related settings desirable.
• Knowledge of Australian employment obligations, privacy and safe recruitment principles.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely and accurate HR advice and support to managers and employees on employment conditions, policies, procedures and workplace matters.
• Coordinate end-to-end recruitment activities, including advertising vacancies, candidate communication, interview arrangements, reference checking and onboarding.
• Prepare employment contracts, variations, and other employment-related documentation in accordance with legislation and school policies.
• Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, HR databases and personnel files.
• Support employee lifecycle processes including probation, performance reviews, leave management, transfers and resignations.
• Assist with interpretation and application of employment legislation, awards and enterprise agreements.
• Provide administrative and coordination support for employee relations matters, including investigations and disciplinary processes.
• Support HR policies, procedures and initiatives and communicate them effectively.
• Prepare HR reports and workforce data for internal stakeholders.
• Coordinate pre-employment requirements such as working with children checks and training records.
• Contribute to wellbeing, engagement and workforce planning initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve HR systems and service delivery.
