Job summary

u&u Recruitment Partners is seeking an experienced Senior People Partner for a 6-month parental leave contract in Melbourne, Australia. You will partner with senior leaders, provide practical HR guidance, and drive people outcomes while coaching HR colleagues and supporting culture and change initiatives.

You’ll collaborate across a diverse portfolio, balancing commercial thinking with a people-first approach in a busy People & Culture function that values inclusion and meaningful work.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Senior HRBP or similar role.
• Strong ER expertise and ability to navigate tricky conversations.
• Proven ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience partnering with senior leaders in a complex organisation.

Responsibilities

• Partner with leaders on workforce planning, organisational development and day-to-day people matters.
• Coach managers through performance, conduct and employee relations challenges.
• Provide day-to-day leadership and support to HR Advisors and Coordinators.

We’re partnering with a highly regarded, purpose-led organisation looking for an experienced Senior People Partner to join the team on a 6-month parental leave contract. The opportunity

Reporting to the Head of People & Culture, you’ll be a trusted partner to leaders across the business, providing practical advice, challenging thinking where needed and helping drive great people outcomes.

Your days will be varied, but here's a taste of what you’ll be doing

• Partnering with leaders on everything from workforce planning and organisational development through to day-to-day people matters;
• Coaching managers through performance, conduct and complex employee relations challenges;
• Providing day-to-day leadership, coaching and support to an HR Advisor and HR Coordinator, fostering their development and success;
• Supporting culture, engagement and change initiatives;
• Providing advice on employment legislation, policies and industrial instruments; and
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes and make life a little easier for leaders and employees alike!

A little about you

You’re an experienced HR professional who knows how to balance commercial thinking with a genuinely people-first approach.

You’ll bring

• Solid experience in a Senior HR Business Partner, Senior People Partner or similar role;
• Strong ER expertise and the confidence to navigate tricky conversations;
• A natural ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels;
• Experience working with senior leaders in a complex organisation;
• Some people leadership or mentoring experience;
• A practical, solutions-focused mindset and the ability to juggle competing priorities; and
• A collaborative approach, a good sense of humour and a willingness to get stuck in!
