Job summary

Talent in Canberra seeks an experienced Senior HR Adviser to provide specialist workplace relations advice across a broad range of employment matters within a Commonwealth Government organisation.

You will interpret and apply Commonwealth employment legislation, policies and frameworks to deliver practical and consistent workplace outcomes, collaborating with managers and employees to support a positive workplace culture and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Experience interpreting Commonwealth employment legislation and policies.
• Ability to analyse complex workplace relations matters.
• Strong research and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication with managers and staff above and below.
• Sound judgement and discretion in sensitive matters.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert workplace relations advice to managers and employees.
• Interpret and apply Commonwealth employment legislation, industrial instruments, policies and procedures.
• Support the development and review of employment policies and guidance materials.
• Research complex workplace relations matters and provide clear recommendations to decision-makers.
• Contribute to workplace relations projects and broader people initiatives.
• Build effective relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Support organisational change and promote a positive workplace culture, including wellbeing.
