Job summary

EVT Limited in Australia is seeking a CA/CPA-qualified corporate accountant with 5+ years of experience to support the Senior Corporate Finance Manager, Hotels & Resorts. You will oversee financial reporting, taxation, and compliance across EVT's hospitality and leisure businesses in Australia and New Zealand, coordinating accounting activities and supporting both hotel operations and corporate.

This role emphasizes month-end close, fixed asset management, tax work, audits, and cashflow

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualified, or nearing completion.
• Five+ years corporate and financial accounting experience.
• Experience with statutory reporting, taxation compliance and audits.
• Fixed asset accounting and capex management experience.
• Hospitality, property or multi-site operations experience preferred.
• Exposure to NZ, SG and Thai accounting/tax jurisdictions is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end close: review and reconcile balance sheets, prepare journals and provide variance commentary on P&L and balance sheet movements.
• Maintain and review fixed asset registers for hotel assets, from capex and work in progress through disposals and write-offs.
• Support tax and compliance obligations, including income tax, GST, FBT and payroll tax, tax reconciliations and tax effect accounting.
• Prepare notes and work papers for statutory reporting and coordinate interim and year-end audits with external auditors.
• Act as a trusted finance partner to hotel operations and corporate stakeholders, helping them understand financial results and reporting requirements.
• Assist with short and long-term cashflow forecasting and monitor weekly cash positions across the business.
• Contribute to finance transformation, system implementation and broader business improvement initiatives.

About the role:

Supporting the Senior Corporate Finance Manager, Hotels & Resorts, this role is hands on and broad in scope, covering financial reporting and taxation across EVT's hospitality and leisure businesses in Australia and New Zealand. You'll co-ordinate, review and assist with financial accounting, reporting, tax and general administrative compliance, with a strong focus on the corporate function while supporting both hotel operations and EVT Corporate.

• Prepare notes and workpapers for statutory reporting and coordinate interim and year end audits with external auditors
• Act as a trusted finance partner to hotel operations and corporate stakeholders, helping them understand financial results and reporting requirements

What you’ll bring

• CA or CPA qualified, or nearing completion
• Five or more years of corporate and financial accounting experience
• Demonstrated experience in statutory reporting, taxation compliance and audit management
• Experience with fixed asset accounting and capital expenditure management
• Experience in hospitality, property or multi site operations is preferred but not required
• Exposure to New Zealand, Singaporean and Thai accounting and tax jurisdictions is highly regarded
