Job summary

Evolution Mining LTD. is seeking a Senior Health & Safety Advisor for Ernest Henry Operations to lead safety performance across the site.

You will manage a multidisciplinary team of safety, health and emergency management professionals and partner with operational leaders to embed best practices and strengthen safety culture. This hands-on, high-visibility role combines operational influence with strategic guidance.

Qualifications

• Significant health and safety experience within mining or heavy industry.
• Proven ability to provide operational safety advice and mentor staff.
• Strong incident investigation capability, ICAM trained or equivalent.
• Experience implementing safety management systems and continuous improvement.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and coaching skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational health and safety leadership across Ernest Henry Operations.
• Lead and develop a team of HSE Advisors and Emergency Management personnel.
• Support the Safety and Health Management System implementation and improvements.
• Lead incident investigations and drive meaningful corrective actions.
• Coordinate occupational health and emergency management activities across the roster.
• Offer expert coaching to leaders and frontline teams.

This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior operational health and safety leadership role at one of Australia's premier underground mining operations.

As our Senior Health & Safety Advisor, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping health and safety performance across Ernest Henry Operations. Leading a multidisciplinary team of safety, health and emergency management professionals, you'll partner closely with operational leaders to build capability, strengthen safety systems and foster a culture where the health, safety and wellbeing of our people remains at the heart of everything we do.

This is a hands-on leadership role that combines operational influence, team leadership and technical expertise. You'll be highly visible across site, supporting leaders and teams to continuously improve safety performance, learn from incidents and drive positive health, safety and emergency management outcomes. In this role, you’ll:

• Provide operational health and safety leadership across Ernest Henry Operations, partnering with leaders to support safe and effective outcomes
• Lead and develop a team of Health & Safety Advisors, Occupational Health professionals and Emergency Management personnel
• Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the site's Safety and Health Management System
• Lead and support incident investigations, ensuring quality investigations and meaningful corrective actions
• Coordinate occupational health and emergency management activities across your roster
• Provide expert coaching and practical health and safety advice to operational leaders and frontline teams.

Does this sound like you?

• Significant health and safety experience within mining, resources or another heavy industry environment
• Proven experience providing operational health and safety advice and leading or mentoring health and safety professionals
• Strong incident investigation capability, including formal investigation training such as ICAM or equivalent
• Experience with safety management systems, compliance requirements and continuous improvement initiatives
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, coaching and influencing skills
• A practical and collaborative leadership style with a passion for continuous improvement.
