Job summary

Georgiou, now part of STRABAG SE, seeks a Senior Health and Safety Advisor to support major civil infrastructure projects in Beerwah, QLD. You will lead HSE systems, train teams, andShape safety culture across the project and organisation.

You will apply extensive safety expertise to ensure regulatory compliance and robust risk management on critical upgrades and rail-related works in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years' experience in the health and safety space delivering major civil infrastructure projects.
• Rail experience (TMR and QR) is favourable.
• Demonstrated leadership experience within your team and project.
• Experience in a previous safety role with working knowledge ideally within the civil construction industry and chain of responsibility requirements.
• Knowledge of AS/NZS 4801, ISO 14001, Occupational Health, Safety and Environment Act & Regulations.
• Knowledge of Workers Compensation and Injury Management Act.
• Implement a personalised brand of exemplary safety behaviour.
• Maintaining high standards of safety management policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with key stakeholders to develop relationships that facilitate communication and implementation of Georgiou’s HSE systems.
• Ensure project teams are adequately trained to perform HSE responsibilities and provide ongoing coaching for total compliance with HSE systems and regulations.
• Assist in the preparation of toolbox and HSE pre-start content.
• Implement improvements and strategies in response to changes impacting HSE activities.
• Maintain and develop Georgiou’s HSE systems.
• Influence a positive safety culture across the business.

Join Georgiou and Beerwah Coast Connect Alliance for the Wave Stage 1 Brownfield package as a Senior Health and Safety Advisor to join our civil and engineering teams. This package delivers critical upgrades at Beerwah, including heavy rail works, a major station overhaul, and seamless integration with the North Coast Line and the Beerburrum–Nambour Rail Upgrade.

What you will do:

What you are good at:

• 6+ years' experience in the health and safety space delivery major civil infrastructure projects
• Rail experience, TMR and QR experience is favourable
• Demonstrated leadership experience within your team and project
• Aside from having experience in a previous safety role with working knowledge ideally within the civil construction industry and chain of responsibility requirements. You should have demonstrated examples to showcase:
• Thorough Knowledge of AS/NZS 4801, ISO 14001, Occupational Health, Safety and Environment Act & Regulations
• Knowledge of Workers Compensation and Injury Management Act
• Implement a personalised brand of exemplary safety behaviour
• Continuing to maintain the high standard of safety management policies and procedures in place.
