Job summary

BuildRight Construction AU in Adelaide is seeking an experienced Directional Driller or Directional Drill Tracker to join an established team on South Australian projects. You will bring hands-on HDD operations experience and work within structured safety and project requirements.

Sponsorship is available for suitably qualified overseas HDD professionals seeking a long-term career in Australia. The role covers power, communications, water, sewer and gas infrastructure works across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience as a Directional Driller, Directional Drill Operator or Drill Tracker.
• Proven hands-on experience in horizontal directional drilling.
• Ability to demonstrate genuine and verifiable industry experience.
• Relevant HDD qualifications, licences or industry accreditations.
• Service locating experience will be highly regarded.
• Strong understanding of WHS requirements.
• Consistent employment history and professional work record.

Responsibilities

• Operate or track HDD equipment on infrastructure projects.
• Carry out HDD activities in accordance with project plans and site requirements.
• Monitor drilling operations and maintain safe and efficient work practices.
• Support underground service locating and identification activities where required.
• Work across power, communications, water, sewer and gas projects.
• Follow established safety procedures, operational systems and compliance requirements.
• Complete project documentation and maintain accurate operational records.
• Identify equipment or operational issues and report them promptly.
• Work closely with drilling crews, supervisors and other project personnel.
• Maintain equipment and contribute to efficient day-to-day site operations.
• Apply careful and systematic processes throughout drilling activities.
• Maintain consistent quality standards and attention to detail.
• Communicate professionally with team members and project stakeholders.
• Contribute to a reliable, safety-focused and professional work environment.
