Job summary

NSW Trustee and Guardian is seeking a Senior Guardian to lead complex guardianship matters and advocate for customers within delegated authority. You will prepare reports, make well-reasoned decisions, and collaborate with families, health professionals, and government agencies to uphold the rights and welfare of vulnerable individuals.

The role emphasizes empathy, sound judgement, and strong stakeholder engagement, with flexible and hybrid working arrangements available across NSW locations.

Qualifications

• Degree in social, health, behavioural sciences or related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Available to travel throughout NSW.

Responsibilities

• manage complex and sometimes sensitive guardianship matters and develop effective decision-making plans
• advocate for customers and work collaboratively with families, carers, health professionals, disability and aged care providers, government agencies and other stakeholders
• make well-reasoned decisions in accordance with legislation, delegations and guardianship standards
• prepare reports, submissions and recommendations, including matters before the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT)
• provide guidance, advice and support to Guardians dealing with complex customer situations
• visit customers and build strong knowledge of local services and supports to help achieve positive outcomes.
