Job summary

Aware Super is seeking a Senior Financial Controller on an 18-month contract, based in Sydney or Melbourne with a hybrid work model. You will own the financial close, balance sheet substantiation, fixed assets, lease accounting, intercompany transactions, and year-end reporting across the Fund and group entities.

You will lead two teams, partner with Tax, Risk & Compliance, and external auditors, and ensure timely and accurate financial operations. CA/CPA or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• CA, CPA or equivalent professional qualification.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting functions in superannuation/financial services.
• Thorough understanding of accounting operations, balance sheet substantiation and reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly and annual financial close for the Fund and operating entities, including the Trustee entity, AFSAL and Aware Super Services.
• Work with Finance Systems to map new accounts and analysis codes in the general ledger.
• Liaise with Group Tax to ensure cost allocations and intercompany settlements comply with tax legislation.
• Administer and reconcile intercompany settlements, issue and process intercompany invoices.
• Support Group Tax with tax provisioning, BAS and FBT returns.
• Prepare year-end trial balances for statutory financial statements.
