Job summary

WSP in Australia is seeking a Senior Groundwater Modeller in Perth to lead hydrogeology projects across mining. You will develop and calibrate groundwater models, mentor junior staff and engage clients to deliver high‑quality insights.

You will apply advanced modelling, manage deliverables, and collaborate with a team on complex mine water challenges while contributing to business development and project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years in hydrogeology with groundwater modelling experience.
• Experience with FEFLOW/MODFLOW and model calibration.
• Strong reporting and client communication capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop groundwater flow models to support dewatering, slope depressurisation, seepage, environmental risk and mine closure planning.
• Perform model calibration, sensitivity and uncertainty analyses using PEST/FePEST and conduct predictive simulations.
• Interpret aquifer tests, maps and spatial data for robust hydrogeological interpretations.
• Develop data-processing and workflow automation tools using Python to improve efficiency.
• Prepare technical reports, proposals, work plans, schedules and budgets.
• Present findings to clients and internal teams; manage multiple projects.
• Mentor junior professionals and contribute to deliverables.
• Support business development and client relationships.
