Job summary

Ming Yang Smart Energy in Canberra, Australia, seeks a Senior Grid Engineer to support electrical design, grid integration and simulation studies for onshore and offshore wind projects. The successful candidate will ensure grid code compliance and optimize connection strategies for wind farms, including work across the EMEA region.

You will use PSCAD, PowerFactory, PSS/E and ETAP to build grid models and perform power system analyses—load flow, short circuit, dynamic and harmonic

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in wind grid connection and power system studies.
• Proficiency in power system simulation tools (DigSilent PowerFactory, PSCAD, PSS/E).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop grid models and assess grid performance using PSCAD, PowerFactory, PSS/E, ETAP.
• Perform power system analysis: load flow, short circuit, dynamic, transient stability, and harmonic studies.
• Evaluate the impact of wind farms on grid infrastructure and propose mitigation measures.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless integration.
