Job summary

Megaport is seeking a Go-focused Backend Engineer to design, develop, and maintain robust Go-based backend services and tooling. You will build internal developer tooling, automate operational workflows, and ensure governance and secure self-service infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Proven professional experience as a Backend Engineer using Go.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience with building services on top of Kubernetes.
• Solid knowledge of scalable web service development, including RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Strong proficiency in API design, authentication, and authorization protocols.

Responsibilities

• Develop Internal Developer Tooling: Go-based APIs, microservices, and CLI tools to reduce friction for engineering teams.
• Engineer Scalable Automation: orchestrate workflows between systems of record, SaaS platforms, and internal infrastructure.
• Implement Governance-as-Code: automate repository and service oversight to align with standards as we scale.
• Build Self-Service Infrastructure: create interfaces for teams to request/manage infrastructure securely without Platform team intervention.
• Operate and Optimize: collaborate to deploy and maintain Go-based backends on Kubernetes/EKS, with performance tuning.
