Job summary

Gilmour Space Technologies Pty is seeking a Senior GNC Engineer to design and implement flight-critical software and control algorithms for rocket systems. You will lead a team, perform concept studies, design verification and validation, and integrate GNC with avionics and mission operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Physics or Aerospace / Aeronautical / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or STEM.
• 4+ years in professional GNC, Flight Software or robotics design engineering.
• Ability to lead and collaborate in a fast-paced team environment.
• Programming experience in Python, MATLAB, or similar.
• Low-level languages like C/C++ and version control with Git.
• Experience with software verification, CI, and Systems Engineering.
• Ability to obtain NV1 Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop linear and nonlinear models of control system dynamics.
• Iterate flight algorithm stack for navigation, guidance and control.
• Improve tools and pipelines for design, analysis, and operations.
• Analyse performance, stability and robustness of flight algorithms.
• Design and optimise launch vehicle trajectories.
• Create simulation and visualisation tools.
• Work with cross-disciplinary teams to validate models with test data.
