Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Higher in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering.
• RPEQ certification preferred but not mandatory.
• Experience in designing retaining piles and certifications is valued.

Responsibilities

• Tender estimation and preliminary design.
• Construction inspection and quality management.
• Site visits, inspections and supervision of piling work.
• Provide supervision to junior engineers.
• Sound commercial understanding of project scope and risk.
• Develop innovative design solutions to complex problems.
• Prepare project drawings and schedules using AutoCAD 2D and MS Office.
• Assist QA/QC activities including site inspections and data collection.
• Develop and maintain relationships with Clients and Suppliers.

Based in SE Queensland, as piling contractors we are able to service Australia’s Foundation and Shoring challenges.

About the role

The role requires civil-structural, geotechnical & project management skills, for design and construction of piled foundations and earth-retaining structures. The work will be under the supervision of senior engineers and managers, to assist in training and professional development.

Key responsibilities

Tender estimation and preliminary design

Construction inspection & quality management

Site visits, inspections, and supervision of piling work

Provide supervision to junior engineers where required

Sound commercial understanding of projects, including scope inclusions/exclusions and project risk profiles

Ability to produce innovative design solutions to complex problems

Preparation of project drawings and schedules, using AutoCAD 2D and Microsoft Office

Assist with QA & QC activities including attending site inspections for piling, capping beam and bracing works, site inspection reports, pile records and as-constructed schedules, and providing certification as required

Develop and maintain positive relationships with Clients and Suppliers

About you

Education Bachelor's Degree or Higher Degree in the related field

RPEQ certification is preferred, but not compulsory

Ability to provide design certification where required, e.g., basement stability certification, certification reports, piling build-over sewer approval

Ability to attend client meetings independently and lead discussion around design solutions

At least 3 + years of Australian Experience or Overseas Experience

Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident or Full Work Rights Holder

Structural and/or geotechnical experience is highly valued

Experience in designing retaining piling walls and proficiency in finite element software such as Plaxis, Slope/W, Seep/W, RSPile, Msheet and Abaqus, is highly valued.
