A specialized recruitment agency is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join their Brisbane team. This role requires expertise in local ground investigations, design software, and project management. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in running ground investigations and a sound understanding of drilling techniques and sampling methods. The position offers support from senior staff and the opportunity to work towards CPENG and RPEQ certifications.

Overview

Ground Recruitment is a Pty Ltd company established in July 2022. It exclusively provides highly specialised permanent recruitment services and high-performance coaching to geotechnical engineers, geologists and select clients across Australia and New Zealand.

This client is a privately owned and operated Australian company with the decision makers and owners residing mainly on the east coast of Australia. Their offices are in Brisbane, Melbourne and, most recently, Perth. They are technically focused and have a large team of Principals who are accessible.

This company is well respected within our industry and has an extensive database of pile test results which is utilised for pile design (giving them a competitive edge on projects). Other areas of design include foundations, retention systems, ground improvement, temporary works, crane and drill pads and slope stability.

Opportunity

An opportunity exists for a Geotechnical Engineer to join the Brisbane team of around 30 technical staff.

Responsibilities / Experience

To be put forward to the client for this position, you will ideally be able to demonstrate that you have previous experience working on or running small to medium-sized ground investigations. It would be best if you were building on your understanding of local ground conditions, sampling methods, drilling techniques, lab scheduling, OH&S, proposal writing, project management, ground models, and report writing of basic factual and interpretative reports.

From a design perspective, you should have had some exposure to software packages such as Plaxis 2d & 3d, Slide 2d, Settle 3d, CPet-IT, and Wallap and be able to explain your project involvement and your level of software proficiency.
