Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced Principal Geologist in Melbourne to deliver geological consulting services across exploration, geological modelling, Mineral Resource estimation and technical studies. You will work with clients and project teams to interpret complex geological information and provide trusted technical advice.

You will leverage WSP’s global network to share knowledge and solve complex project challenges, while leading multidisciplinary teams and mentoring junior geologists.

Qualifications

• Degree in Geology, Geoscience or related discipline.
• Experience in exploration, mine geology, resource geology or geological consulting.
• Strong capability in interpretation, 3D modelling and Mineral Resource estimation.
• Proficiency in Leapfrog, Vulcan, Surpac or Datamine.
• Experience preparing technical documentation aligned with recognised reporting codes.
• Strong communication, client engagement and project delivery.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to geological interpretation, modelling and Mineral Resource estimation.
• Provide geological advice for technical studies, due diligence, audits and exploration programs.
• Prepare high-quality technical reports, proposals and client deliverables.
• Build strong client relationships and contribute to business development opportunities.
• Collaborate with specialists across geology, engineering, water, tailings and closure.
• Support junior geologists through technical guidance and knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of geological methods, tools and standards.
