Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Associate to Principal-level Project Manager in Australia’s Geo-Environmental Engineering team. You will lead multidisciplinary projects from concept through completion, ensuring excellence in delivery, stakeholder engagement, and sustainability across ground engineering and contaminated land initiatives.

You will mentor junior engineers, drive schedules and budgets, and support business development while upholding health, safety and regulatory standards to deliver

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
• Postgraduate qualifications in geotechnical engineering or tailings management are highly regarded.
• Professional project management experience, ideally with PMP certification.
• Strong financial acumen and experience in forecasting, estimating, and cost management.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire a team of construction and engineering specialists, fostering technical excellence and continuous improvement.
• Manage the full project lifecycle for design and construction (D&C) projects, focusing on ground engineering, contaminated land, and geo-environmental solutions.
• Oversee project delivery to ensure on-time, within-budget outcomes that meet client expectations.
• Drive project performance by managing schedules, costs, risks, revenue, and contract variations with robust financial controls.
• Engage with clients, authorities, consultants, sub-contractors, and end-users to maintain positive relationships.
• Support business development by promoting WSP’s capabilities and contributing to proposals.
• Champion health, safety, environment and sustainability across all project activities.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers to support their professional growth.
• Contribute to change management and process improvements to enhance delivery and client satisfaction.
