Geological Solutions is seeking a Senior Geologist for a diverse mineral exploration program across multiple commodities and deposits in Australia. The role includes fieldwork, data collection, and mentoring junior geologists.

You will supervise drill rigs, maintain field records, and contribute to exploration strategy. A Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in diverse mineral systems are essential, with 4WD experience and CPR.

Geological Solutions isseeking a Senior Geologist for a diverse range of mineral exploration programmes spanning multiple commodities, geological settings and deposit types.

Key responsibilities

The specific responsibilities will vary depending on the project, but may include:

Conducting geological fieldwork, including geological mapping, sampling and data collection across exploration programmes.

Supervision of drill rigs

Maintaining high-quality field records and documentation in accordance with industry standards and project requirements.

Collecting, analysing and integrating geological data to develop and maintain technically sound geological models and datasets.

Contributing to exploration strategy and target generation, including recommendations for drilling and geophysical surveys.

Mentoring junior Geologists and supervising and coordinating Geologists, Field Technicians and third-party contractors.

What we're looking for

Essential qualifications and experience

Tertiary qualification in Geology, Geoscience or a related discipline (Bachelor’s degree minimum).

Remote First Aid certificate & CPR

G1, G8, G9 Supervisors (Formerly S123 certificate – QLD)

Demonstrated 4WD driving experience and/or recognised 4WD training, with the ability to operate safely and effectively in remote exploration environments

Strong field geology skills and practical experience in exploration mapping, sampling and data collection.

5 years + Demonstrated geological proficiency across a range of mineral commodities, geological settings and deposit types, with the ability to apply appropriate exploration techniques and geological interpretation to different mineral systems.

Proven analytical, geological interpretation and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency with standard geological software and data management systems

Strong communication skills, with the ability to provide clear direction and communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Current driver’s licence and willingness to undertake fieldwork in remote locations.

Knowledge of Australian regional geology and mineral systems, with an understanding of their application to mineral exploration and target generation.

Experience in developing and enhancing policies, procedures and systems

Experience supervising multiple drill rigs, and coordinating personal and teams.
