Mining Plus is seeking a Principal Geologist based in Perth or Melbourne to consolidate an exciting career in resource and mining geology. You will lead complex project work, develop client relationships, and grow the Australian geologist team.

You will contribute to mineral resource estimation, drill planning, due diligence, and mentoring of junior staff, while expanding business opportunities and project management capabilities.

Qualifikationen

• Experience across multiple commodities, mineralisation styles, and geological settings.
• CP/QP in at least one commodity/mineralisation style.
• 10+ years in resource estimation; 12–15 preferred.
• Able to train and mentor junior staff in resource estimation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong interpersonal skills and client relationship abilities.
• Proficient with geological software Datamine, Supervisor, Surpac or Leapfrog.

Core Functions of the Role

• Mineral resource estimation, exploration & resource definition drilling
• Mine geology, reconciliation, and drilling optimisation
• Due diligence reviews
• Acting as CP/QP in at least one commodity style (JORC/NI 43-101 preferred)
• Peer review, training, and mentoring of other Geologists within the Australian team
• Business development and client relationship building
• Assisting with mining studies where required
• Proposal generation and project management

About You

• You are a skilled professional who takes pride in your ability to work autonomously and collaboratively on complex projects within a team environment
• You have experience working across a range of commodities, mineralisation styles, and geological settings, and can act as a CP/QP in at least one commodity/mineralisation style
• Have been working in resource estimation for at least 10 years (12 – 15 preferred)
• You are comfortable training and mentoring junior staff members in all aspects of the resource estimation process
• You have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• You have excellent interpersonal skills and have a demonstrated ability to grow strong relationships within a team, with clients, and within our industry
• You display great time management and problem‑solving skills and are competent in the use of geological software such as Datamine, Supervisor, Surpac or Leapfrog (Geo or Edge)
