Job summary

Private Advertiser seeks a senior Technical Manager to lead a multi-disciplinary team delivering exploration and resource development projects. You will oversee client relationships, commercial delivery and project strategy, with hands-on field and review work spanning geology, geophysics, GIS and data interpretation.

The role combines technical leadership with business development, requiring extensive experience in geology, project delivery, and client-facing engagements within the exploration

Qualifications

• Degree in Geology, Geoscience or related discipline with ~15+ years across multiple commodities.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary exploration teams and programs including drilling and field campaigns
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of JORC reporting requirements
• Established industry network within the exploration and mining sectors

Responsibilities

This is a hybrid role for a hands-on technical manager who can transition seamlessly from leading field programs to presenting exploration opportunities and development concepts to clients and boardrooms.

About the Role

We are seeking experienced high-calibre professionals to become key leaders within our business and lead our multi-disciplinary team to deliver high quality outcomes for our clients. Successful candidates with manage project portfolios and ensure the successful delivery of technical outcomes, while helping our business continue to grow.

The successful candidate will become the primary operational owner of consulting projects, allowing senior leadership to focus on strategy, partnerships, business development and company growth. They will work with our team of specialists to transform technical opportunities into practical exploration, resource definition and development projects.

The role requires a unique blend of, technical credibility and capability, commercial awareness, strong management skills, leadership capability and project delivery expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Client Relationship & Delivery Management: Act as the primary day-to-day contact for key clients building long-term trusted relationships and managing expectations. Lead project meetings and communicate progress, risks and opportunities, Ensure deliverables meet high technical and professional standards.
• Business Development: Identify and attract new commercial opportunities through your industry network, articulate our combined geoscience and corporate advisory services to explorers needing technical and/or strategic support. Prepare proposals, scopes and budgets as well as coordinate tender submissions.
• Technical Leadership & Management: Lead and coordinate our multidisciplinary technical teams to deliver exploration outcomes for client. Review geological interpretations, exploration programmes, reports and recommendations. Coordinate specialist inputs including geology, geophysics, geochemistry, GIS, geological modelling and related disciplines.
• Team Leadership & Mentoring: Provide guidance and mentor colleagues and emerging leaders, Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement, Support recruitment and capability development.
• Project & Commercial Management: Manage project performance against agreed budgets and timelines. Monitor utilisation, cost performance and delivery milestones. Identify and negotiate scope variations, Forecast project workload, resource requirements and revenue.

What We're Looking For

• Degree in Geology, Geoscience or a related discipline with approximately 15+ years' experience across multiple commodities and geological environments.
• Strong knowledge of exploration and/or resource development projects.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary exploration teams and programs including drilling and field campgains
• Proven capability in scope management and budgeting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent relationship and stakeholder management capability.
• Commercial awareness and sound business judgement.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop technical professionals.
• Highly Regarded
• Demonstrated consulting, contracting or client-facing experience.
• Resource modelling, understand of metallurgical test work programs, studies / PFS management
