Job summary

Territory Generation in Darwin, NT is seeking an experienced Senior Manager for Admin with a focus on managing the gas portfolio and short-term trading activities. The role involves safeguarding system security while originating and executing transactions within delegated authority.

You will balance the gas portfolio daily, forecast and nominate gas supply and demand, and develop dashboards to monitor performance.

Qualifications

• Significant demonstrated experience in physical energy market trading and the day to day management of an energy portfolio and trading transactions.
• Strong analytical and numerical capability, using data to support commercial decisions, with excellent attention to detail.
• High level commercial and operational skills with the ability to connect physical asset conditions and constraints to financial performance.
• Proficiency with Excel, VBA/macros, Python, SQL or similar technologies, and intermediate use of AI tools.
• High level skills in managing commercial energy trading across multiple suppliers and customers.
• Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to interact effectively with stakeholders and diverse cultures.
• Expert knowledge of the Australian energy markets, gas trading or portfolio management and market rules.
• Ability to prioritise and manage competing demands and deliver outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Balance the gas portfolio daily across the 0-7 day horizon.
• Issue, receive and validate gas supply, transportation and processing forecasts, nominations, scheduling advices and allocations.
• Originate and execute short-term trading opportunities in line with operating procedures.
• Undertake scenario modelling of short-term transactions to test trade suitability.
• Build and maintain commercially productive relationships with supplier and customer counterparts.
• Monitor and respond to outages, defects, alarms and equipment limitations, escalating where needed.
• Operate real-time energy trading and SCADA systems to optimise asset availability.
• Develop and maintain dashboards, reporting and analytical tools (Excel, VBA/macros, Python, SQL) to monitor performance.
