Job summary

APG Workforce is currently seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer / Full Stack Developer for an opportunity within the NSW Government, based in Sydney CBD. The role involves designing, developing and delivering high-quality digital solutions using Java/Kotlin, Spring Boot and ReactJS.

You will build scalable APIs, work with JSON schemas and relational databases, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, reliable government services in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years of software development experience.
• Strong Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot experience.
• Frontend development experience with ReactJS.
• Proven API design, development and integration skills.
• Experience with JSON files and schemas.
• Experience with monitoring/observability tools such as Splunk or New Relic.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain high-quality, scalable and reliable software applications.
• Develop and enhance full stack solutions using Java/Kotlin, Spring Boot and ReactJS.
• Design, build and maintain APIs to support system integration and functionality.
• Work with JSON files, schemas and relational databases to support application development.
• Collaborate with technical teams and key stakeholders to deliver effective digital solutions.
• Support end-to-end software development, including design, build, testing, deployment and ongoing maintenance.
• Implement appropriate security controls and ensure solutions align with technical standards and best practices.
• Utilise monitoring and observability tools to identify, troubleshoot and resolve application issues.
• Contribute technical expertise, recommendations and innovative solutions to improve system performance and reliability.
• Work collaboratively with platform, release and engineering teams to deliver project outcomes.
