Job summary

Canvas Digital Pty in Sydney is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to help build and scale our cloud-native fintech platform. You’ll own features across React, TypeScript, and AWS serverless infrastructure, taking ideas from architecture through production while collaborating with Product and Engineering.

You will design secure APIs, SDKs, and developer-facing interfaces, integrate third-party services, implement multi-tenant security, and contribute to testing, CI/CD, and AI-assisted

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong expertise in TypeScript, Node.js, and modern React development.
• Experience building production frontend applications, including API integrations and responsive UI.
• Proven experience with AWS serverless technologies (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, SQS) and AWS CDK.
• Experience building APIs, webhooks, and event-driven systems.
• Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, API security, and multi-tenant apps.
• Experience with fintech, payments, banking, or high-reliability environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain production-grade full-stack applications using TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
• Build serverless backend services with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, SQS, and AWS CDK.
• Develop secure customer-facing APIs, SDKs, and developer-facing interfaces.
• Build reliable event-driven systems, webhook handlers, and transaction workflows.
• Integrate third-party financial services and external APIs.
• Implement secure authentication, authorization, RBAC, and multi-tenant architecture.
• Write high-quality automated tests and contribute to CI/CD, observability, and monitoring.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve velocity while maintaining production-quality code.
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, technical planning, and platform improvements.
