Arcadian is a Melbourne-based software and AI solutions partner hiring a Senior Full Stack Developer to own production-grade web apps and AI automation platforms. You'll work hands-on with NextJS/ReactJS/NodeJS and AWS, shaping architecture as requirements evolve.

Senior Full Stack Developer - NextJS/AWS

We're looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer to help build production-grade web applications and AI automation platforms for our clients. You'll be hands-on in the code day to day, using NodeJS, ReactJS, and NextJS as our core stack, while also working with AWS infrastructure as part of the job, not as a separate specialty.

Our projects evolve constantly rather than running to fixed scope, so you'll be involved in ongoing conversations about the technical approach, working with the team to help figure out how we build things as requirements shift. You'll be trusted to own your work technically and speak up when you think there's a better way to solve something, including with clients directly when needed.

What You'll Need

Strong experience with NextJS, ReactJS, and NodeJS in production, this is our core stack.

Solid REST API development in NodeJS, including Serverless/Lambda functions.

Comfortable with database schema design.

Exposure to AWS infrastructure (EC2, Lambda, CloudFront) and general DevOps, it's become part and parcel of development work rather than a separate role.

Confidence proposing solutions to stakeholders, not just executing a spec handed to you.

Comfortable asking clients the right questions to clarify requirements when something's ambiguous, a meaningful part of this role.

Strong communication skills, able to explain technical trade-offs to project managers and clients in plain language.

Hands-on experience with AI dev tooling: Claude Code, Cursor, and ideally exposure to Bedrock, Foundry, vector databases, or data pipelines.

Ability to multitask across concurrent projects and hold deadlines without close supervision.
