Job summary

Okendo is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to build the customer marketing platform used by 16,000+ Shopify brands. You’ll work across Vue, Angular, and React codebases, on a fully remote team, using TypeScript end-to-end on a modern AWS serverless stack.

You’ll design and ship frontend features for embeddable widgets, merchant admin tools, and Shopify integrations, collaborating with product, design, and backend engineers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional frontend experience building production applications.
• Proficient with at least one modern framework (Vue/Angular/React) and able to ramp others quickly.
• Strong TypeScript and JavaScript skills.
• Track record of shipping high-quality, well-tested frontend code in a team environment.
• Comfort working across a full serverless stack (APIs, cloud infra) even if frontend-led.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in a distributed team.
• Ability to break down complex problems into shippable tasks and estimate work.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship frontend features across Vue-based embeddable widgets, Angular merchant tools, and React Shopify integrations.
• Collaborate with product, design, and backend to design and implement frontend solutions.
• Write clean, tested TypeScript, and uphold high code quality standards.
• Break down complex problems into manageable tasks and deliver on schedule.
• Own features end-to-end: design, build, test, deploy, and monitor in production.
• Contribute to frontend architecture discussions as the platform scales.
• Mentor junior engineers and review code to raise the technical bar.
• Collaborate with backend engineers on clean, performant APIs and data flows.
