Job summary

Ignition group in Sydney is seeking a hands-on senior frontend engineer to build the front end of our advice platform using React and TypeScript. You’ll work from product conversations through to production, in an agile scrum team with product and business stakeholders, ensuring accessibility and test coverage.

Qualifications

• Strong experience building complex web applications in React and TypeScript with functional components and hooks.
• Experience contributing to frontend architecture with design patterns.
• Test-first mindset with Jest and Cypress or similar tools.
• Solid understanding of semantic HTML and web accessibility.
• Experience identifying and fixing performance bottlenecks in interactive apps.
• Familiar with front end build tools and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Build new features in React and TypeScript from requirements to production.
• Collaborate with Product/Business to clarify requests and set expectations.
• Write automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests for every feature.
• Contribute to frontend architecture and design decisions for scalability.
• Ensure accessible interfaces that work across devices and assistive tech.
• Diagnose performance issues and instrument monitoring to troubleshoot.
• Mentor junior developers and promote engineering best practices.
• Help shape development standards and participate in scrum ceremonies.
