Sustain Recruit is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to join their Engineering team in Sydney on a hybrid, full-time basis.

The role focuses on Vue.js 3 and TypeScript, building large-scale, data-driven web applications, owning features end-to-end and shaping frontend architecture, performance, and standards. You’ll mentor peers and collaborate closely with Design and Backend teams to deliver secure, robust experiences.

Senior Frontend Engineer – Vue.js / TypeScript

We are working with a growing technology business that is looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to join their engineering team and play a key role in the continued development of a complex, browser-based application.

You’ll work primarily with Vue.js 3 and TypeScript, building highly interactive, data-intensive user experiences while contributing to frontend architecture, performance, testing and engineering standards.

This is a hands‑on senior role suited to someone who enjoys taking ownership of features from concept through to production and is comfortable making technical decisions in a fast-moving environment.

What You’ll Be Working On

• Building complex, interactive frontend experiences using Vue.js and TypeScript.
• Developing and maintaining a large-scale single-page application.
• Designing scalable component architectures and state management solutions.
• Working with APIs, asynchronous data, caching and client-side persistence.
• Improving application performance, reliability and overall user experience.
• Building secure, robust frontend solutions with a strong focus on data protection.
• Collaborating with backend engineers where features require full-stack involvement.
• Contributing to the adoption of AI-assisted development practices and tools.
• Helping shape technical standards, development practices and frontend architecture.

What You’ll Do

• Own significant frontend features from requirements through to production.
• Make pragmatic architectural decisions and clearly communicate technical trade-offs.
• Write maintainable, well-tested and scalable code.
• Contribute to code reviews and raise engineering quality standards.
• Mentor other engineers and provide technical guidance across the team.
• Work closely with Product, Design and Engineering stakeholders.

About You

We’re looking for a senior frontend engineer who brings strong commercial experience with Vue.js 3 and TypeScript and has a proven track record working on complex web applications.
You’ll ideally have:

• Strong commercial experience with Vue.js and TypeScript.
• Experience building complex, stateful single-page applications.
• Strong understanding of component architecture and state management.
• Experience with API integration, asynchronous data, and client-side storage.
• A strong understanding of frontend performance and optimisation.
• A security-conscious approach to frontend development.
• Strong testing and code quality practices.
• The ability to work autonomously and take ownership of technical outcomes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Copilot or Claude Code.
