Job summary

Sydney Local Health District is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join the Burudyara Concord Forensic Rehabilitation Mental Health Unit at Concord Centre for Mental Health. The role focuses on clinical leadership, professional standards, and supervision within forensic mental health OT services.

This permanent full-time position (38 hours per week) offers a salary of AUD 131,585–134,775 per annum plus superannuation, with vaccination requirements and commitment to equal

Qualifications

• Must hold qualifications recognised for registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia and hold general registration with AHPRA; and hold a current, unrestricted NSW Drivers Licence (P1 and P2 licence acceptable).
• Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge, skill and significant clinical experience in the provision of occupational therapy in mental health and/or forensic mental health services, including a demonstrated working knowledge of the relevant legislation for this caseload.
• Extensive experience and demonstrated ability in building and maintaining professional and therapeutic relationships through the application of written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and administrative leadership, setting professional standards, assisting with clinical practice development and coordinating the development of quality and research in Forensic Mental Health Occupational Therapy services in SLHD.
• Carry a clinical caseload and provide supervision of staff/students.
• Coordinate planning and establishment of the Forensic Mental Health Service in SLHD.
