JBS Pork in Melbourne (Laverton) is seeking a Senior Food Technologist to lead product development from concept to commercialization. You will own formulation, testing and scale-up, ensuring compliance with FSANZ and quality systems while collaborating across technical, operational and commercial teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or related discipline.
• Experience in product development, R&D, or food manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of food manufacturing processes, quality systems, and FSANZ regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical and organisational skills; collaborative across teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimise product formulations, prototypes and samples to meet customer and business requirements.
• Lead product testing, sensory evaluations and technical assessments to ensure product quality, safety and performance.
• Manage product scale-up activities from benchtop development through pilot trials to full commercial production.
• Maintain technical documentation and ensure compliance with relevant food regulations, specifications and quality systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to troubleshoot issues, source ingredients and deliver successful product outcomes.

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and hands‑on Senior Food Technologist to join our Value‑Add team in Melbourne (Laverton site) and play a key role in developing innovative, market‑ready food products from concept through to commercialisation. Reporting to the R&D Product Manager, you will be the technical expert responsible for translating innovation concepts into commercially successful products. You will lead product formulation, testing, process optimisation and scale‑up activities while ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards throughout the development lifecycle

Key Responsibilities
