Job summary
JBS Pork in Melbourne (Laverton site) is seeking a Senior Food Technologist to translate innovation concepts into commercially successful products. You will lead formulation, testing, process optimisation and scale-up while ensuring quality and regulatory compliance throughout the development lifecycle.
Reporting to the R&D Product Manager, you will collaborate with technical, operational and commercial teams to deliver market-ready foods and contribute to innovative product development across
Qualifications
- Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Engineering or related discipline.
- Experience in product development, R&D or food manufacturing.
- Knowledge of FSANZ regulations and food quality systems.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with technical, operational and commercial teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimise product formulations, prototypes and samples.
- Lead product testing, sensory evaluations and technical assessments.
- Manage product scale-up from benchtop development through pilot trials to full production.
- Maintain technical documentation and ensure compliance with relevant food regulations and quality systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to troubleshoot issues and deliver outcomes.
