Job summary

Select Staffing's client, a leading food manufacturer in the southern suburbs of Perth, is seeking a full-time Operations Manager to lead production, packing, dispatch and logistics, and to drive continuous improvement across the site.

You will develop operational plans, manage schedules, labour, and stock, ensure food safety, GMP, HACCP and SQF compliance, and coach team leaders and contractors to deliver safe, on-time orders to specification.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification and/or proven experience in a production or operations management role in food manufacturing or bakery.
• Experience with production planning, rostering, stock control, budgeting and labour-cost management.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and monitor operational plans across all production shifts, packing and distribution, and evaluate their effectiveness.
• Plan daily and weekly production from customer orders and forecasts; set production targets.
• Allocate labour, equipment and ingredients; set shift priorities and monitor output and order completion.
• Coordinate production, cooling, packing, storage, dispatch and logistics; manage drivers and contractors.
• Lead the food safety and quality system, GMP and SQF site-certification activities; build a food safety culture.
• Develop and coach team leaders and supervisors; monitor performance and provide development support.
• Promote safe work practices and ensure WHS procedures are followed.
• Monitor labour, overtime, output, waste and costs; ensure cost-effectiveness.
• Provide operational reporting on production, quality, wastage, GMP compliance and risks.
