Job summary

The Department of Education Western Australia is seeking Senior Information Access Officers to support information release under the FOI Act. You will coordinate responses to FOI requests, subpoenas, and court documents, and consult with applicants, staff, and agencies to determine access and release of information.

Role requires interpreting relevant legislation, handling case histories and precedents, and ensuring compliant information disclosure.

Qualifications

• Experience with Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and information release processes.
• Ability to consult with applicants, third parties, and staff on information disclosure matters.
• Ability to interpret legislation and provide case history-based interpretations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate responses to FOI requests, summonses, subpoenas, and other orders for production of records.
• Consult with applicants, third parties, Department staff and other agencies on information disclosure matters.
• Interpret relevant legislation to determine access and release of information, including case histories and precedents.
• Produce court documents and related information as required.
