Job summary

Department of Education, Western Australia is seeking to establish a pool of Senior Information Access Officers for permanent and fixed term roles across 2026 and into August 2027. Vacancies may commence at various times during this period.

Roles involve advising on information release under FOI, coordinating responses to requests, and interpreting relevant legislation for case histories and precedents, with a focus on accessing information for applicants, third parties and agencies.

Qualifications

• Be Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with work rights for the term.
• Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number.
• Experience with information disclosure under the FOI Act would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Interpret relevant legislation to determine information access and release.
• Coordinate responses to FOI requests, summonses, orders and other production of records.
• Consult with applicants, third parties, staff and other government agencies on disclosure matters.
