Job summary

BG&E (now part of the SYSTRA Group) seeks a Senior Flooding & Hydrology Engineer/Hydrologist to lead flood modelling and risk assessments across sectors from its Australian operations in Sydney. You will manage projects, mentor engineers, and deliver high-quality reports and designs.

NSW experience is strongly preferred and Chartered status is advantageous. The role offers flexible working, competitive remuneration, and opportunities to progress into Associate or Technical Lead roles within

Qualifications

Qualifications in Civil or Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science with strong hydrology and flood risk knowledge.
7+ years’ experience in flood assessments, hydrology, and modelling in Australian consulting environments, NSW preferred.
Major infrastructure project exposure and ability to lead within multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

Lead flooding and hydrology projects or work packages within multi-disciplinary teams.
Deliver hydrologic studies, hydraulic analysis, flood modelling, and mapping.
Interpret model results and provide practical flood risk mitigation recommendations.
Prepare technical reports, inputs to proposals, and budgets; mentor junior engineers.
