Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to join our networked Fire Services team in Australia and NZ. The role focuses on leading fire protection design across diverse projects, from concept to commissioning, with responsibility for client relations and technical excellence.

You will contribute to complex fire protection schemes, ensure compliance with NCC and Australian Standards, and mentor junior engineers while delivering high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified, NER listed and FPAS.
• Experience planning and managing successful projects.
• Strong knowledge of the NCC and Australian Standards.
• Familiar with local fire system certification processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage projects from concept to installation and commissioning.
• Provide technical oversight to ensure successful project delivery.
• Design Fire Protection Services including sprinkler, hydrant, hose reel, detection, and suppression systems for complex projects.
• Represent Stantec externally and manage client relationships.
• Prepare and present client presentations.
• Delegate tasks to junior engineers and provide feedback for development.
• Contribute to in-house discussions and design reviews.
• Track deliverables and meet project timeframes.
• Provide input during the Construction phase and conduct site inspections.
