Job summary

Core Talent is seeking a Senior Fire Engineer to join its Perth team and take ownership of complex fire engineering projects across commercial, residential, and industrial sectors.

You will mentor junior engineers, liaise with architects and authorities, and drive high-quality, NCC-compliant fire engineering reports while supporting business development and client engagement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in fire engineering.
• Experience delivering performance solutions and alternative solutions under the NCC.
• Strong understanding of fire dynamics, smoke management and egress principles.
• Experience with fire modelling and analysis tools.
• Experience mentoring engineers and reviewing technical work.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of performance-based fire engineering solutions for various developments.
• Prepare and review Fire Engineering Briefs (FEBs) and Fire Engineering Reports (FERs).
• Develop NCC-compliant performance solutions and provide technical leadership.
• Manage project delivery, budgets and client relationships.
• Liaise with authorities, certifiers and stakeholders; support BD activities.

Senior Fire Engineer

Perth, WA | Up to $160,000 + Super | Flexible Working

An established engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Fire Engineer to join its growing Perth team.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of complex projects across commercial, residential, industrial, education and mixed-use developments while playing a key role in mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the growth of the fire engineering division.

The Role

You will lead the delivery of performance-based fire engineering solutions, working closely with architects, developers, building surveyors and multidisciplinary design teams.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing and reviewing Fire Engineering Briefs (FEBs) and Fire Engineering Reports (FERs)
• Developing performance solutions under the NCC
• Providing technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers
• Managing project delivery, budgets and client relationships
• Conducting technical reviews and ensuring high-quality project outcomes
• Liaising with authorities, certifiers and project stakeholders
• Supporting business development and client engagement activities

About You

You will ideally have:

• 5+ years' experience in fire engineering
• Experience delivering performance solutions and alternative solutions under the NCC
• Strong understanding of fire dynamics, smoke management and egress principles
• Experience with fire modelling and analysis tools
• Previous experience reviewing technical work and mentoring engineers
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• CPEng, NER, registration or progression towards registration would be highly regarded
