Job summary

FireAxe in Brisbane is seeking an experienced Fire Detection Technician to join our small team. The role focuses on servicing, testing and maintaining fire detection and alarm systems, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, safety and customer service.

You'll work autonomously, handle fault finding, programming and commissioning of FIPs, and participate in on-call rosters, with opportunities to grow your expertise and contribute to trusted client relationships.

Qualifications

• Experience as a fire detection technician with autonomous work capabilities.
• Strong knowledge of AS 1851 and AS 1670.
• Current QBCC fire protection licences or ability to transfer interstate licences.
• Experience programming and commissioning fire panels.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, testing and maintaining fire detection and alarm systems.
• Advanced fault finding and diagnosis.
• Programming and commissioning FIPs.
• Detection repairs, modifications and upgrades.
• Quoting minor installation and rectification works.
• Completing clear and accurate reporting in Uptick.
• Participating in an on-call roster.
