Placements24 is seeking a Senior Financial Controller to oversee financial operations and reporting for its client based in Paarl, Western Cape. You will manage accounting functions and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements while driving improvements in processes.

You will partner with senior management to provide strategic financial insights, lead budgeting and forecasting, and mentor the accounting team to foster a culture of accuracy and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• CA(SA) or equivalent qualification is required.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive accounting and financial management experience, with at least 3 years in a controller role.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, South African tax laws, and corporate finance principles.
• Proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems, and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
• Manage the budgeting and forecasting processes, working with department heads to develop financial plans.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
