Job summary

Amazon Commercial Services Pty Ltd in Sydney is seeking an analytically-minded Financial Analyst to design, build and maintain financial models for global deals and strategic programs. The role requires comfort with ambiguity, data-driven insights, and leveraging AI for productivity.

You will support enterprise negotiations, due diligence, and long-range planning, working with the Leo international finance team alongside the regional Finance Manager in Sydney.

Qualifications

• Experience applying KPIs to analyses.
• Experience creating process improvements with automation and analysis.
• 2+ years of finance, tax or related analytical field experience.
• Experience designing and implementing controls or performing audits over financial reporting.
• Experience developing financial models in Excel with pivot tables, macros, VBA, Power Query.
• Experience in forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and interpreting financial results.

Responsibilities

• Support enterprise deal negotiations across Asia Pacific by developing P&L models with scenario analysis, sensitivity testing, and pricing analysis.
• Perform partner financial health due diligence and support FX/currency strategy for complex deals across jurisdictions.
• Build and maintain reusable deal model frameworks and standardized templates for consistency across geographies.
• Design and maintain financial models to project and evaluate business performance against goals and metrics.
• Actively leverage AI tools to enhance productivity and automate repeatable analysis.
• Support OP1, OP2, QBR, and Long Range Planning processes for International Leo B2B and B2C operations.
• Perform Month-End-Close activities, such as variance analysis and accrual creation.

It's Day 1 for Amazon's next billion dollar business and we are looking for an analytically-minded Financial Analyst to work in a start-up environment who is passionate about technology, who thinks/acts globally, who thrives in ambiguous and fast-paced environments, and who has the ability to develop solutions to business questions.

The successful candidate will be entrepreneurial by nature, analytical in approach, have a demonstrated ability to develop financial models that provide intelligence for business decisions and able to leverage their project management skills to support business objectives. This role requires a self-starter with good business modelling skills, a keen attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment with limited oversight, and a track record of supporting the business with data-driven insights. The candidate must have the aptitude to learn and incorporate new approaches and methodologies (including statistical concepts) while dealing with big data, actively leverage AI tools to enhance productivity and analysis, and be able to help define key business questions and to build data sets that answer those questions.

Key job responsibilities

• Support direct and indirect enterprise deal negotiations across Asia Pacific markets by developing comprehensive P&L models with scenario analysis, sensitivity testing, pricing analysis including breakeven calculations and NPV neutrality assessments
• Perform partner financial health due diligence and support FX/currency strategy consultation for complex deals, assessing deal viability across regulatory, tax, and accounting considerations in international jurisdictions
• Build and maintain reusable deal model frameworks and standardized templates to ensure consistency across geographies
• Design and maintain financial models to project and evaluate business performance against key goals and metrics
• Actively leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, automate repeatable analysis, and improve model accuracy
• Support OP1, OP2, QBR, and Long Range Planning processes for International Leo B2B and B2C operations
• Perform Month-End-Close activities, such as variance analysis, monthly finance review preparation, accrual creation.

About the team

We are the Leo international finance team, covering all Leo commercial GTM and BizOps finance support in EMEA, Asia and Pacific regions. This role will work alongside the regional Finance Manager also based in Sydney.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses
• Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis
• 2+ years of finance, tax or a related analytical field experience
• Experience designing and implementing controls or experience performing audits over financial reporting environment
• Experience developing financial models in Excel with advanced functions (pivot tables, macros, VBA, Power Query)
• Experience in forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and interpreting financial results

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA, or CPA
• Experience participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results
• Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
• Experience in commercial finance business partnering or FP&A
• Experience in identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes
