Fitzgerald Jenkins Recruitment in Sydney is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join the Group Finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role covers statutory reporting, taxation, consolidations and group reporting with a hands-on, detail-oriented approach.

You will be responsible for supporting group consolidation, tax workpapers, impairment assessments, and process improvements while leveraging AI tools to boost productivity.

Qualifications

• Group consolidation & intercompany accounting experience in Financial Services.
• Strong hands-on statutory financial statements preparation experience.
• Sound knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards.
• Exposure to current & deferred tax accounting.
• Exposure to impairment testing & financial modelling.
• Advanced Excel & financial analysis skills.

Responsabilités

• Preparing statutory financial statements for subsidiary entities, including notes and supporting workpapers.
• Supporting annual valuation & financial reporting of contract assets, including revenue & cash flow assumptions, reviewing valuation models, disclosures & workpapers.
• Supporting Group consolidation, including intercompany eliminations and consolidation adjustments.
• Assist workbook preparation of current & deferred tax calculations, tax reconciliations & assisting with FBT & other entity tax matters.
• Assist with CGU impairment assessments, including DCF models, key assumptions & sensitivity analysis.
• Reviewing existing finance processes & workpapers & actively implementing process improvements.

Leading Asset Manager seeks experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join their Group Finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This is a broad, hands-on role covering statutory reporting, taxation, consolidations & Group reporting; they're looking for someone who can get into the detail quickly & take ownership of key reporting deliverables.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing statutory financial statements for subsidiary entities, including financial statement notes & supporting workpapers.
• Supporting the annual valuation & financial reporting of contract assets, including understanding the underlying revenue & cash flow assumptions, reviewing valuation models, assessing accounting treatment, disclosures & supporting workpapers.
• Supporting the Group consolidation, including intercompany eliminations, consolidation adjustments & understanding how individual businesses contribute to the consolidated result.
• Assist with the workbook preparation of current & deferred tax calculations, tax reconciliations & assisting with FBT & other entity tax matters.
• Assist with preparation of CGU impairment assessments, including DCF models, key assumptions & sensitivity analysis.
• Reviewing existing finance processes & workpapers & actively implementing practical process improvements.

What we're looking for

You will be CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent) & bring:

• Group consolidation & intercompany accounting experience in Financial Services.
• Strong hands-on statutory financial statement preparation experience.
• Sound knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards.
• Exposure to current & deferred tax accounting.
• Exposure to impairment testing & financial modelling.
• Advanced Excel & financial analysis skills.
• A demonstrated track record of improving finance processes.
• Strong attention to detail combined with an ability to understand the broader Group result.
• Exposure to AI tools & demonstrated ability to increase productivity.
• An enquiring attitude & willingness to constructively challenge existing approaches
