Job summary

The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment & Water (DCCEEW) is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join the Financial Control and Reporting team in Parramatta, NSW. You will prepare statutory financial statements, Treasury reporting, and consolidate financials across the Department and portfolio entities.

You will ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards, NSW Treasury mandates and legislative requirements, while strengthening governance, controls and audit

Qualifications

• Experience with statutory financial reporting in government or large organisations.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and reporting requirements.
• Experience reviewing reconciliations, work papers, and financial controls.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review statutory financial statements and Treasury reporting.
• Coordinate monthly reporting to Treasury and year-end processes.
• Support governance, controls, and audit readiness across portfolios.
• Provide technical accounting advice on complex transactions.
