P&C Partners Pty Ltd seeks a Senior Finance Business Partner to lead the finance partnership for APAC operations. You will own the numbers behind operations and identify where you can move the key operational metrics.
The role offers regional exposure across Australia, New Zealand, China and Southeast Asia, with travel and a pivotal impact on decision making. You will partner with operations leadership, build capital expenditure processes from scratch, and drive working capital and reporting
The world runs on infrastructure. Behind every piece of it is a factory, and behind every factory is a set of numbers that someone needs to understand.
Every day, operations teams make decisions that quietly shape profit. Run it on a different line? Import it instead of making it? What happens to the fixed costs, the inventory, the margin? The people making those calls are experts at what they do, but they aren’t finance people. They need someone who can see the whole chain, explain it simply and help them make a better decision next time.
That someone could be you.
Our client is a global leader in engineered infrastructure: a listed, multi‑billion dollar business with manufacturing operations across five continents. Its products support the roads, energy networks, cities and major developments that communities depend on, and its Asia Pacific business is a significant and growing part of that story, with operations spanning Australia, New Zealand, China and Southeast Asia.
This is a newly created role. Nobody has done it before, so there’s no legacy to inherit and no box to fit into. As Senior Finance Business Partner, you’ll be the finance partner to the APAC operations leadership. You’ll own the numbers behind the operations and have the freedom to decide where you can make the biggest difference. In 12 months’ time, success looks simple: the key operational numbers have moved, and you can point to why.
Partnering operations leaders across APAC, turning cost and margin into language that people on the ground understand and act on
Building a proper capital expenditure process from scratch, from business case through to review, approval and spend tracking
Leading the financial thinking on make vs buy, footprint and labour optimisation, and following every decision through to its knock‑on effects
Driving working capital improvement, particularly inventory
Creating a consistent operational reporting framework across the region and playing a key role in a regional BI project
Running performance reviews with the management team and feeding into budgets, forecasts and the long‑term plan
Working closely with a capable commercial finance team, a dedicated data function and a strong controllership team
A degree in Accounting or Finance, ideally CA or CPA qualified
A grounding in cost accounting: you understand standard costing, input costs, fixed vs variable costs, and how it all rolls up into inventory
Experience in a business that makes something tangible. Manufacturing is ideal, but food, processing, FMCG and building products and similar all translate well
Real business partnering experience with non‑finance stakeholders, at every level
Strong financial modelling skills and the ability to explain the answer clearly
Experience putting structure and process around something that had none
Self‑motivation and a sense of urgency. This is an autonomous role for someone who finds the problem, fixes it and then says so
Interest and ability to travel, roughly 4 trips a year across Australia, New Zealand and Asia, then around 3 a year
Impact you can measure.
Real international exposure. You’ll visit operations across Asia Pacific and build relationships with the people who run them. Travel is paid for, and you’re welcome to add a couple of nights of your own.
A business in transformation. There’s new commercial structures, new senior leadership and a growing finance team. It’s a great time to arrive and shape how finance partners the business.
Global scale, local autonomy. You get the systems, structure and career currency of a multi‑billion dollar global group, with real ownership of your agenda.
Your choice of base. Choose from three Brisbane locations, north and south side, so you can pick the commute that suits you.
Ready to make a difference you can see?
