Job summary

D & E Air Conditioning Pty Ltd in Adelaide is seeking an experienced Estimator to own estimating and tendering across HVAC and mechanical services projects. You will bring strong commercial awareness and technical understanding to develop accurate, competitive estimates.

You will collaborate with clients, consultants, suppliers and internal teams to understand requirements and help secure the right work. Responsibilities include take-offs, analysing drawings, and incorporating supplier quotes.

Qualifications

• Has proven experience as an Estimator within construction, preferably HVAC or mechanical services.
• Has strong commercial acumen and a solid understanding of HVAC systems, estimating and project costs.
• Is highly organised, analytical and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and commercially competitive estimates and tenders for HVAC and mechanical services projects.
• Analyse drawings, specifications and project documentation, completing quantity take-offs and identifying scope gaps, risks and value engineering opportunities.
• Obtain, assess and incorporate supplier and subcontractor quotations into project estimates.
• Take ownership of assigned tenders, including preparation, presentation, reporting and ongoing follow-up with clients and builders.
• Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors and internal project teams to understand requirements and maximise project opportunities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement across estimating processes while maintaining D&E’s standards

About The Role

Reporting to the Estimating Manager, you will take ownership of estimating and tendering activities across HVAC and mechanical services projects. You’ll bring strong commercial awareness, technical understanding and a proactive approach to developing accurate, competitive and commercially sound estimates.

You’ll work closely with clients, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, project managers and internal teams to understand project requirements, identify opportunities and ultimately help D&E secure the right work.

Key responsibilities will include:

Prepare accurate and commercially competitive estimates and tenders for HVAC and mechanical services projects.

About You

We’re looking for an experienced estimator who combines strong technical and commercial capability with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

You will ideally have:

Has proven experience as an Estimator within construction, preferably HVAC or mechanical services.

Has strong commercial acumen and a solid understanding of HVAC systems, estimating and project costs.

Is highly organised, analytical and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Communicates confidently and builds strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers and internal teams.

Takes a proactive, solutions-focused approach and is comfortable working both autonomously and collaboratively.
