Job summary

UGL in Sydney seeks a Senior Electrical Estimator to lead accurate electrical cost estimates from tender allocation through submission. The role partners with engineering, commercial, and delivery teams to support winning bids on renewables, utilities and infrastructure projects.

You will source pricing inputs from suppliers, prepare tender submissions, and hand over awarded work to delivery teams to ensure seamless continuity and project success.

Qualifications

• Extensive estimating experience in electrical or energy projects.
• Experience with renewables, utilities, or infrastructure.
• Proven ability to deliver estimates in competitive tenders.
• Strong understanding of electrical scopes, costs and risk.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

• Lead the preparation and delivery of accurate electrical cost estimates.
• Develop direct and indirect cost estimates using UGL estimating systems.
• Coordinate with engineering, commercial, and delivery teams during tenders.
• Engage suppliers and subcontractors to source pricing and inputs.
• Prepare tender submissions and present estimates to internal stakeholders.
• Support client meetings, post-tender clarifications, and bid reviews.
• Review estimates prepared by other estimators and support improvement.
• Handover awarded projects to delivery teams for continuity.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior Electrical Estimator plays a critical role in delivering accurate, competitive, and commercially sound electrical estimates. You’ll lead estimating activities from tender allocation through to submission, working closely with engineering, commercial, and delivery teams to support winning bids.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and delivery of accurate electrical cost estimates


• Develop direct and indirect cost estimates using UGL estimating systems


• Coordinate with engineering, commercial, and delivery teams during tenders


• Engage suppliers and subcontractors to source pricing and technical inputs


• Prepare tender submissions and present estimates to internal stakeholders


• Support client meetings, post-tender clarifications, and bid reviews


• Review estimates prepared by other estimators and support continuous improvement


• Handover awarded projects to delivery teams to ensure estimating continuity

Your Skills & Experience

• Extensive estimating experience in electrical or energy projects


• Strong background across renewables, utilities, or infrastructure projects


• Proven experience delivering estimates in competitive tender environments


• Solid understanding of electrical scopes, project costs, and risk assessment


• Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills


• Degree or Diploma in Engineering (desirable)
