Job summary

UGL Pty Limited is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead construction and delivery across major energy and industrial projects in Australia. You will own project delivery from construction and executive perspectives, ensuring safety, on-time completion and budget discipline.

You will manage multidisciplinary teams, coordinate with engineering, procurement, and logistics, and drive performance while maintaining strong client engagement and continuous improvement across project

Qualifications

• 15+ years delivering construction or infrastructure projects.
• Experience leading large multidisciplinary project teams.
• Engineering/Construction Management degree.
• Strong commercial acumen with budgets and contracts.
• Knowledge of HSEQ requirements and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead site construction activities to achieve safety, quality, cost and schedule objectives.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, commercial and logistics teams for seamless execution.
• Manage project resources including workforce planning and subcontractors.
• Monitor progress, budgets and performance metrics with corrective actions as needed.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and provide exceptional service.
• Participate in project reviews and contribute to tenders and opportunities.
• Foster a culture of safety and compliance with policies and regulations.
• Lead, mentor and develop project teams for high performance.
• Ensure effective communication and collaboration across teams.
• Drive continuous improvement in project delivery methodologies.

UGL’s in‑house engineering and design capability, together with our strong project delivery and operations and maintenance expertise puts us in a strong position in the market. Our target project opportunities include Solar, Battery Energy Storage Systems, and Wind Projects, as well as Hydrogen and Ammonia projects. As we continue to deliver & evolve, we are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team.

About the Role

As the Senior Project Manager, you will take ownership of project delivery from a construction and executive perspective, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will provide leadership across multidisciplinary teams, manage stakeholder relationships, and drive project performance while maintaining a strong focus on safety and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all site construction activities to achieve project objectives across safety, quality, cost, and schedule.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, commercial and logistics teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Manage project resources, including workforce planning, subcontractors, plant and equipment.
• Monitor project progress, budgets and performance metrics, implementing corrective actions where required.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and provide exceptional customer service.
• Participate in project reviews and provide strategic input into tenders and future opportunities.
• Drive a culture of safety, ensuring compliance with all HSE policies, procedures and legislative requirements.
• Lead, mentor and develop project teams to maximise performance and engagement.
• Ensure effective communication, stakeholder management and collaboration across project teams.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives and best-practice project delivery methodologies.

What You'll Bring

• Minimum 15 years' industry experience delivering construction or infrastructure projects, including significant leadership responsibility.
• Proven experience managing large multidisciplinary project teams in power station, heavy industrial, energy, utilities, resources or infrastructure environments.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related discipline.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience managing project budgets, contracts and project controls.
• Demonstrated knowledge of HSEQ requirements and construction industry regulations.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement, negotiation and communication skills.
• Strong leadership capability with a track record of coaching, mentoring and developing high-performing teams.
